Cricket

Cricket turns out to be much more fun than I gave it credit for. Mind you, I'm still not sure how I feel about test cricket, because seriously, who has five days to watch one game. Seriously. One day cricket was a bunch of fun though. The levels of stress just keep building as the game goes on, until it reaches its final conclusion. About the same speed as baseball, but without the yokel factor. There's no ball scratching, snot blowing, tobacco chewing, or balks. Come one now, who invented the balk? They really need to do something better to do with their time.

I ended up watching cricket in Seoul because it was New Zealand vs. South Africa in the world cup, and almost everyone I know here is a Kiwi or Canadian. This is due to the fact that many Americans seem to be too afraid of terrorists/tsunamis/the boogeyman/not knowing where the nearest McDonald's is to go on fun vacations. The U.S. has a population over ten times the size of Canada, yet I have only met a handful of Americans on my travels, while Brits, Aussies, and especially Kiwis and Canadians are a dime a dozen. Maybe it's something bred into the culture to go out and see something different at least once in your life. I'm not sure, but there's probably a large government grant in it for someone who comes up with a theory and a way to prove it... hmm...

Note that I realize that Liverpool v Milan is not technically cricket, but "Football." Just seemed like a related topic.
